SAP Learning Hub also aims to answer the age-old question - how do you create training that is not only effective, but also gets employees excited to learn? One answer is gamification. With the gamification capabilities of the SAP HANA Cloud Platform, SAP Learning Hub rewards learners with points, badges, and upward movement while undertaking missions to find and identify valuable content. The reward management and gamification motivates and engages learners, holding their attention. The tactic also improves social learning, encouraging users to be active members of their communities. When learners are actively participating and engaging, the overall learning experience is more meaningful.

CGI: Providing Consultants the Skills They Need to Succeed

In 2014, the research firm Ovum named CGI a "market leader" in the technology industry. CGI has a large team of global consultants who work with clients to implement solutions from SAP. These consultants are charged with helping their clients get the most out of their SAP solutions. But with such a wide range of solutions, CGI consultants needed a quick and effective way to train and learn about the SAP software environment. So CGI turned to the SAP Learning Hub site. SAP Learning Hub offers scalable, on-demand learning that is up-to-date, personalized, and always available. The site helps prevent knowledge leakage by speeding up the onboarding process; the company can stay nimble and train employees much faster than before.

When a company like CGI grows, it can only support that growth with more consultants. And the faster a consultant can be deployed to support a client, the better. So instead of costly and time-consuming training that keeps consultants on the bench, CGI uses SAP Learning Hub to get them on the job faster, and support them once they are there.

It is also important for clients to feel like their consultants are knowledgeable about the solutions they are supporting. If consultants are out of the office training, or don’t have all of the information they need, it can hurt the relationship between CGI and the client. So with on-the-spot training on the full range of SAP solutions, clients are happy that consultants are there to support any solution they want to implement.

CGI has seen a lot of benefits since it began using SAP Learning Hub. Access to and use of training materials and documentation is 70% faster than it was before, and its consultants receive 50% more training. By eliminating scheduling and traveling for on-site training, CGI has saved money and increased the number of consultants it has trained by 50%. All of this has resulted more support for CGI’s employees and better service for its customers.

LEARNING MAPS

Our SAP Learning Maps are designed to help guide you through a logical training path. The best way to use them is to establish where you want to get to and work out what lies along the way. SAP Learning Maps deliver a clear development path for you to update your knowledge and skills for your next career step.

Each map has a key to help you identify the level of the course, plus any prerequisites that course may have. Most of the SAP training curriculum comprises three levels:

Level 1 – Introductory courses
These courses provide a beginner’s overview of the SAP solution area and provide essential prerequisite knowledge for the more advanced courses. They are designed for attendance by company managers, project managers and project teams.

Level 2 – Foundation courses
These courses introduce you to fundamental business processes that can be modelled using SAP. The courses serve as an introduction to a particular solution component, such as SCM500 - Processes in Procurement. While Level 2 courses are primarily designed for project team members, managers can also benefit from a more in-depth look at business processes and functionality.

Level 3 – Detailed courses
These courses focus on providing detailed information about individual application areas, and concentrate on customisation and function descriptions. They usually build on information covered in the corresponding Level 2 courses.

Solid lines between courses indicate a mandatory prerequisite, whilst dotted lines show where a course is recommended before taking another.
